WILLIE CAMBEROS came to the
United States from Mexico in 1969 and received his Green Card eight years ago.
He passed his written test and provided all the
necessary information on July 5th.
Willie was sworn in as a United States citizen on
August 17th. The ceremony was held at 11 a.m. at Lassen Volcanic Park in Mineral, California.
The Loyalton Senior Center’s bus traveled to Lassen Volcanic Park to witness Willie’s swearing in. Unfortunately, directions were not clear and the busload of local citizens missed the ceremony as did his southern California friends and Barbara and Joe Franco who drove from Redding.
However, Willie, who drove with his sister from Reno, made the ceremony and is now a United States citizen!
Willie resides at the Loyalton Senior Apartments and is a regular at the Senior Center and is known to cook for his neighbors and enjoys the local wildlife including bears and deer. At home, he has one cockatiel.
