TNF Plum Fire Update

​8.12.22 8:30am TNF Plum Fire Update.
Minimal activity throughout the night, no reported growth.
All spot fires are in within retardant lines and have been addressed.
8.11.22 9:00pm TNF Plum Fire Update.
USFS Tahoe National Forest is in command of the Plum Fire, located on the TNF Yuba River Ranger District. approx. 3 miles south of Alleghany and NE of Moores Flat. Aerial resources have completed their missions and returned to bases. TNF Air Attack 17 with Helicopters 514 and Salmon-Challis N.F. 3CH will be committed to the Plum Fire tomorrow. Firefighters on the ground including TNF YRRD Battalion 31 Grahm Rice, Patrol 31 Jessica Prince, members of 514 Tahoe Helitack and 3CH Salmon Heli-rappel crew, TNF Engine crews 334, 373, and 332, with handcrews and cooperator engines are engaged in constructing containment line directly along the fire’s edge where the earlier, effective retardant application coordinated by TNF Air Attack 17 Bryan Rosenow checked up the fire’s spread giving crews time to make access and begin constructing handline in the steep terrain. An Intel FIRIS Flight flew over the fire and mapped it at 11.65 acres. Cause is under investigation.
The Plum Incident Commander-TNF 514 Tahoe Helitack Captain Rex Sundstrom with engines and crews will remain on the fire overnight constructing containment line. TNF Dispatch will also be staffing overnight to continue providing support to Plum Fire resources. TNF Dispatch has ordered engines from the Eldorado and Plumas National Forests as well as Carson City BLM to provide additional Forest coverage tomorrow alongside Tahoe National Forst Fire resources who will be extending their staffing to 12 hour shifts or longer as needed throughout the weekend.

8.11.22 6:30pm TNF Plum Fire Update
TNF Plum Incident Commander reports that air tankers have dropped retardant around fire perimeter boxing it in at 10 acres. Fire behavior includes creeping and isolated torching. Additional handcrews are arriving and will join in handline construction efforts in the steep terrain.

8.11.22 4:00pm Tahoe National Forest- Plum Wildfire Incident
Location: Yuba River Ranger District- in the area of Lafayette Ridge
Initial Size Up: 3-5 acres, moderate rate of spread.
Tahoe National Forest Dispatch has dispatched aerial and ground firefighting resources. TNF Air Attack 17 is over fire coordinating aerial firefighting aircraft taking suppression action.
Air Tankers 88, 89, TNF Helicopter 514 and cover Helicopter 3CH with Helitack crews are engaged with additional aerial resources ordered.
514 Tahoe Helitack is on-scene on the ground.
TNF Battalion 31, TNF Patrol 31, TNF Engines 334, 332, 373 with Handcrews, Water Tenders are making access. Cooperator resources including engines, water tenders, and dozer have been ordered and responding.
