Fiber artist, Dee Kelly is the choice of the board of directors of the Mohawk Community Resource Center (MCRC) for the 2022 Mohawk Community Art Faire (MCAF).  Dee produces hand knitted clothing and accessories. She began knitting a half century ago with her grandmother and she continues to produce artist created originals one stitch at a time.
Every participant in the Art Faire must contribute a hand made item for the raffle.  Dee’s contribution is a fifty by sixty inch, knitted afghan, with two hand embroidered pillows.  Her booth at the Faire will offer all kinds of shawls, scarves, wraps, hats, cowls, mitts and pillow covers and if that doesn’t cover her customer’s special needs, she will take orders.
The MCRC began its sponsorship of the MCAF in 2014.  Except for a pandemic break in 2020 it has offered a Thanksgiving craft fair at the Graeagle Fire Hall each year since then.  It has proved to be a much needed financial contributor to the Resource Center.
This traditional holiday event is the perfect place to find the right Christmas gift. Nineteen vendors will offer their work for sale.  Patrons can select from products like jewelry, rustic furniture, soaps, paintings, wood sculptures, stone sculptures and other specialties. Besides the raffle of items contributed by the vendors, refreshments will be available.
The Mohawk Community Art Faire will occur on the 25th and 26th of November.  Doors open at 10 am on both days. The Fire Hall is located at 7620 Highway 89 in downtown Graeagle. For more information call 530-293-7172 or e-mail:  mcrc96103@gmail.com.
