BALLOTS WILL BE SENT TO REGISTERED VOTERS
BEGINNING FEBRUARY 3, 2024
IMPORTANT VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATION
NOTICE:
The California Republican Party has changed its rules so that the Congressional Delegates’ votes are allocated differently from past years. By doing this, the GOP was put into a Closed Presidential Primary. What this means is that the party only allows voters indicating a preference for that party to vote for its presidential nominee.
If you have family or friends that are registered as No Party Preference, they are getting notice that they can request a specific party’s mail-in ballot, except if they wish to vote Republican, Green or Peace and Freedom Parties. If you want a Republican party ballot, you must re-register as a Republican to vote for a Republican Presidential candidate. Be sure to share this information with anyone you know who wants to make sure they can vote for the candidate of their choice. They can re-register on-line at the Secretary of State’s website (Elections and Voter Information California Secretary of State) or their local county elections office.
I have been hearing stories from people who have recently been to a DMV office for one reason or another and have found out that their voter registration was changed to “No Party Preference.” It is a good idea for you and others to check your voter registration status on a regular basis to make sure this does not happen to you.
The last day to register to vote in the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election is February 20, 2024.
