First Baby of TFH 2024 Family – Parents, Katie Baumgartel and Mike Crow, First Baby of 2024, Cassidy, and her dog brothers, Diego and Rufus
(Tahoe/Truckee, Calif.) – Tahoe Forest Health System announced the arrival of the first baby of the New Year, Cassidy Kimberly Crow, born on January 4, 2023, 9:36 a.m.
Baby girl Cassidy weighed 6 pounds 9.8 ounces and measured 19 inches long. She is the first child of proud parents Mike Crow and Katie Baumgartel of Truckee, CA. Cassidy was delivered by OB-GYN Kristy Howard, DO, who is part of the team of physicians at Tahoe Forest Health System.
Katie and Mike have committed to raising Cassidy in the active Truckee lifestyle. Throughout their entire pregnancy, they thrived on outdoor adventures that included hiking, boating, and hot air ballooning to name a few. Katie and Mike have exclaimed to “keep an eye out for Cassidy on the slopes next year!”
While at the Joseph Family Center for Women and Newborn Care, Mike and Katie felt like they were part of the team. “I have learned from everyone through each interaction and continue to feel the supportive nature of the team, even after discharge,” says Katie. The proud parents expressed their appreciation for the numerous staff that have played a part in their experience during their stay.
Tahoe Forest Hospital’s Joseph Family Center for Women and Newborn Care is a state-of-the-art facility designed with the needs, safety, and comfort of new moms and families in mind. The facility features private birthing suites, each with a JacuzziTM tub and private postpartum suites. Tahoe Forest Hospital has been nationally certified as a Baby Friendly hospital since 2010 and is a Safe Haven Baby Drop-Off location.
In honor of the first baby of the year, the Crow family was presented with a gift basket donated by Tahoe Forest Health System. The gift basket included baby items from The Gift Tree gift shop, located inside the main lobby at Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee, CA.
