Crews conducted another smaller blasting operation Monday at the slide location on State Route 70 in the Feather River Canyon to continue to loosen fractured rock from the slope. Scaling operations from also took place last week prior to and after the first, larger blasting operation on November 23rd. Crews are currently constructing a bench to access loose material on the slope and have begun breaking down and removing debris from the area again. Debris removal will be ongoing at the slide location, pending further activity on the slide, worker safety, and weather.

Caltrans and contractors thank the traveling public and locals for their continued patience during this slide closure. 24/7 roadway conditions are available via QuickMap or by calling 1-800-427-7623. Please contact the Caltrans District 2 Public Information Office at 530-225-3426 or by email with questions.
