ROTARY CLUB OF LOYALTON met April 27th at the museum. Acting President Chuck “Up Chuck” Henson handed out forms for members to nickname new members. Those fun original names are what sets Rotary Club of Loyalton apart and makes it so unique and fun.
It was decided not to have a booth at Timberfest but to use the event to advertise for the 4th of July.
Chelsea Johnson told of a possible trail up Chipmunk Meadows on a State wildlife easement as a gateway to the Rotary Park and will take a tour and report back. She told how there is no marked local trail and a future Rotary map of trails was discussed.
Much talk was of taking care of Loyalton, especially the downtown. Owen McIntosh told of Cars for Cash and/or Cars for Kids. Both programs pay for cars, running or not. It was discussed having Loyalton participate and residents being paid for cars.
It was moved by Owen, seconded by Wendy Bergstrom to sponsor Little League for $200.
Painting the storage containers at the City Park and using them as billboards was discussed with Lis Henson and Chelsea Johnson in charge of artistic ideas.
Additional ideas were a Blue Grass barbecue, scholarships and fundraisers for the museum roof.
