NEW EPHC CEO HIRED

DOUGLAS A. McCOY has been hired as CEO by Eastern Plumas Health Care.
Doug is an experienced healthcare leader who has enjoyed a 20-+ year career managing long-term acute and skilled nursing facilities including a role as Market CEO over multiple facilities.
Doug grew up in Reno and received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration coursework at University of Nevada, Reno. Doug describes himself as a creative, innovative self-starter with 24 years of multi-facility hospital and SNF management experience in ten states. He has exceptional financial and operational skills, and a broad background covering clinical, marketing, management development, human resources, reimbursement, survey management, and education. Doug has high energy and drive, which creates the need for constant challenge and success.
Currently, he is serving as the Market CEO for Kindred Healthcare in Seattle, Washington where he has operational oversight for multiple LTAC hospitals, which include ICU, telemetry, high observation units, medical/surgical, and wound services.
He has management of 15 direct department leadership reports and 300 staff members. Doug improved Seattle LTAC net income performance from an operating loss of 3.2 million dollars in 2017 to a 5.3 million dollar profit for FY 2019. He reduced clinical staff turnover from 40.8% in 2017 to 18.3% for FY 2019. Doug has had oversight of all acute and post-acute patient transition processes between acute, SNF, home health, and hospice services throughout Washington. He developed strategic plans and committees to address operational opportunities including census/payer development, financial performance, clinical process improvement, and physician engagement. Doug was responsible for the operations of 10 skilled nursing facilities in Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, and Colorado with 75 million dollars in net revenue.
Doug is no stranger to our area. Besides growing up in Reno, he has previously lived in Susanville where his parents currently reside.
He has three grown children who reside in Ashland, Oregon, Las Vegas, Nevada and Utah.
While not married, Doug has a significant other who lives in Reno.
He will start at Eastern Plumas on May 11th.
