At Loyalton City Council meeting Tuesday, May 19th, Fire Chief Shawn Heywood asked the Council if it was moving into the former middle school, now dubbed "Loyalton City Center." He told the Council about its present site, "We want that building!" Mayor Pat Whitley told Heywood, "As far as I know," the City will move into the former middle school. Councilman Brooks Mitchell, who has worked tirelessly on the new City Center, told Heywood they are preparing to move with wire and wifi and there would be costs if they DON'T move. Brooks said the move would have to take place over a week end and they would depend on the Fire Department to help. In reply, Heywood assured the Council the Fire Department would "help assist in any way."
