All new courses! And the route to Frenchman Lake is a first! For course conditions check out photos of the $5 Bucks a Foot bike above, which were taken on course at Red Clover Valley a week ago. More conditions reports to come...
The countdown is on! Less than one month until we gather at Portola City Park to ride some of the best gravel roads in the west, revel with good people and enjoy a weekend of music, food and bikes up in the Lost Sierra. Temperatures have started to warm up, snow is quickly melting and the wildflowers should be peaking almost perfectly in lockstep with the June 3 race date. We can’t wait!
We’ve made a few adjustments to the three courses to account for high-elevation snow, in order to lower the high point of the courses that have the potential to still be snow-bound next month. Notably, the re-route will take the 100-milers out to Frenchman Lake—a stunning portion of the valley that will offer new roads and views to riders who’ve done Lost and Found in the past. All three rides will serve up a rugged and beautiful backcountry adventure, showcasing the magic of the Lost Sierra.
Overall distances will stay nearly on par, at 35, 60 and 100 miles with less overall elevation gain on the day for each course. We’re also adding another aid station into the mix for the 35-milers. Check out all the new elevation profiles and race-day details here.
And if you haven’t signed up yet—it’s not too late! The Lost and Found Gravel Festival, presented by Cervélo is all about beautiful riding and great vibes off the bike. It’s a weekend full of fun, with live music, food trucks, kids’ races and a Builders’ Bazaar, where you can mingle with small frame builders and see their custom works of art in person. So come join the fun!
