QUINCY, Calif. – September 1, 2016 – Scheduled repairs have been completed ahead of schedule and the Gold Lake Boat Launch facility and attached parking area in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area of the Plumas National Forest are now open for use.
“Labor Day weekend recreation use is important for our area,” said Sabrina Stadler, district ranger on the Beckwourth Ranger District. “I’m very pleased our contractor, North Star Construction and Engineering, worked so hard to make sure they finished ahead of schedule.”
Visitors to the upgraded facility will find improved & safer parking, energy efficient solar lighting, and a repaired boat dock. Visitors are reminded that campfire restrictions are still in effect on the Plumas National Forest. Campgrounds in the vicinity of Gold Lake have remained open during construction.
