Amid Rising Drug Overdoses, Attorney General Bonta to Promote Participation in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

OAKLAND – Attorney General Rob Bonta will be joined today by Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong and community leaders to promote Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which will take place Saturday, October 23, 2021. According to the California Overdose Surveillance Dashboard, in 2020, 5,363 deaths in California were related to an opioid overdose – a 120% increase from 2018.
