This leads to an average of 90 deaths per year from lawn mower accidents, and while this isn’t the biggest in general, people are more likely to die from this than they are from many common fears, such as shark attacks and spider bites.

To dig up these results, LawnStarter pulled the data from the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s National Electronic Injury Surveillance System, which tracks ER visits for injuries associated with consumer products.
