Quincy, CA — On Saturday evening, November 15th, 2025, a Plumas County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Quincy area. During the contact, the deputy identified the driver as Crystal Gordy, an off-duty correctional officer employed by the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.

Based on observations made during and before the stop, the deputy suspected the driver may have been operating a vehicle under the influence. The California Highway Patrol was requested to respond and assume the investigation.
Upon arrival, CHP officers conducted a DUI investigation, which ultimately resulted in the arrest of Ms. Gordy for driving under the influence.
Ms. Gordy has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, in accordance with County and departmental policies.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office holds all employees to the highest standards of conduct, both on and off duty. This matter will be handled with transparency and accountability as the internal process moves forward.
