The Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council (MVSC), stewards of the historic ranch at White Sulphur Springs, announces a new public event to be held inside the restored Ranch House located at 2200 Highway 89 in Clio. It’s called Tavern Talk, and it’s scheduled for Saturday June 14th, 2025. It will be an afternoon of local history storytelling.  Attendees will learn how the property came to be and provide a look into the lives of the earliest pioneers. The event flyer says that we will “hear the lurid tales of the gold camps and the trouble they invited.”
Tavern Talk begins at 5:00 pm with a complimentary reception of wine, beer, and light hors d’oeuvres.  The program concludes at 7:00 pm.  Ticket price is $30 and can be purchased via a QR code that appears on the flyer and via a URL link that is on the website at www.WhiteSulphurSpringsRanch.com .  The Ranch House can hold about 50 people so attendees should obtain their tickets as soon as possible.
The availability of White Sulphur Springs Ranch for special events like Tavern Talk is a part of the MVSC’s commitment to develop the site for use by the community. A recent announcement offered the site as a wedding destination which is a testament to the thousands of hours of work that volunteers have spent in improving the site. The website tells the full story of this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
