Interested individuals are invited to provide feedback on Tahoe National Forest’s Pliocene Ridge Project and Forty-Niner Gold Project by April 25, 2025. The projects aim to reduce wildfire risks by establishing fuel breaks on critical access roads on National Forest land adjacent to the communities of Alleghany, Bassetts, Downieville, Pike and Sierra City.
Removing vegetation and hazard trees will help residents and visitors drive safely out of the area while reducing the danger and difficulty of suppressing future wildfires.
Comments can be submitted by one of the following ways by April 25, 2025:
