For families impacted by the recent fires and power outages in Placer‚ Plumas‚ Shasta‚ and Siskiyou counties‚ the USDA has approved a SUN Bucks Timely Reporting Waiver for Food Loss‚ providing extra time to report food loss and request a replacement of SUN Bucks benefits.
What is SUN Bucks?
SUN Bucks‚ also known as Summer EBT‚ is a new program for 2024 that provides families with $120 per eligible child to purchase groceries.
What does the SUN Bucks Timely Reporting Waiver do?
This waiver allows households impacted by the fires to report food loss due to power outages‚ fridge/freezer malfunctions‚ or other emergencies and receive a replacement of their SUN Bucks benefits. If your family was affected by the fires in one of the eligible zip codes‚ you can request a replacement of your SUN Bucks by calling (877) 328-9677 before August 31‚ 2024. Approved requests will be reissued within 40 days.
