CHRISTMAS EVE IN SIERRA COUNTY 

Report of a rock slide on Highway 49 on Christmas Eve; a report of a vehicle crash on Highway 89 just north of Little Truckee Summit and water on the phone line that calls 911 in Pike. Another vehicle crash on Highway 49 was across from Haskell Creek in Sierra City. A report of a tree blocking a county road was roughly a half mile from the PG&E station on Lavezzola Road in Downieville. Another tree blocked Highway 49 just south of Goodyears Creek Bridge in Goodyears Bar. A vehicle accident in a ditch ¼ mile from Bassetts Station was reported possibly one trapped  inside. Deputies and Sacramento Highway Patrol “were able to assist and not one was trapped inside.” A crash was reported on Highway 49 at Newman Point. A vehicle was involved in an accident near Vista Point on Highway 49. Deputy and Caltrans got vehicle off the roadway. Deputy was able to provide assistance to get a tow truck for the parties. Report of a possible semi-truck stuck on Gold Lake Road near Gold Lake. Sacramento Highway Patrol was notified and found out that 775 Offroad Group was in the area for another incident attempting to help. A family member was en route to assist. 
AND ON CHRISTMAS DAY…..
Property checks on Main Street in Downieville due to no power. A vehicle stuck in the snow partially blocked the highway near Cold Creek. Susanville CHP notified. A report of downed tree across highway near Kyburz. Truckee CHP notified. Report of multiple trees down blocking Highway 49 north of Vista south of Lunch Box Curve. Sierraville Caltrans notified. A vehicle was over the embankment with no injury requesting a tow on Highway 49. Sacramento CHP notified. There was a report of a reckless driver in and near Sierra Brooks. Vehicle accident with medical issues on Highway 89. Deputy, Susanville Highway Patrol, Caltrans and Sierra County Fire assisted. A vehicle stuck in embankment 1 mile north of Vista Point on Highway 49. Caltrans and deputy able to  get vehicle unstuck. Another vehicle stuck in snow same place. Vehicle got unstuck. Report of downed trees between Yuba Pass and Bassetts.
DECEMBER 26…..
Report of a vehicle stuck in the snow in Calpine. Sierra County Fire assisted.  Request for Loyalton Fire to establish a landing zone for Care Flight at Sierra Brooks Lodge. Deputy and Susanville Highway Patrol assisted a driver spun out from the snow near Yuba Pass. Report of multiple vehicles driving through Nevada County towards Sierra County and some might be semis. 
DECEMBER 27…..
Vehicle parked in middle of Highway 89 with driver taking off chains. Pickup truck buried in snow near curve north of Bassetts on Highway 49. Dispatch informed CHP. Transport provided stranded motorist in Sierra Brooks. 
DECEMBER 28…..
Washoe County requested temporary coverage from Sierra County at White Lake Pkwy. Vehicle crash just above cemetery on Oxford Mine Rd., Downieville. Small fire inside Calpine residence and was extinguished. Report of rocks in the roadway on Highway 49. A deputy removed the rocks.
