The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office has sent two of our deputies to Butte County to assist in the ongoing Thompson Fire evacuations in the community of Oroville. This deployment comes in response to a Law Enforcement Mutual Aid request from the Butte County Sheriff's Office through the California Office of Emergency Services.
Our deputies will work with local authorities and officers from around Northern California to ensure the safety and security of the affected residents and properties. Approximately 85 law enforcement officers from Northern California responded to assist Butte County yesterday afternoon.
Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the fire.
