The annual Flag Retirement with Scouts was held downtown November 11th. Prior to the ceremony, Bob Feeny opened Timber Cafe and offered all Veterans a free hamburger or hotdog. A menu was available to others with proceeds benefitting the Scouts. The cafe was to be open from 4 to 7 p.m. but they sold out by 6 p.m.
For flags that need "retirement," there are boxes at the Milton Gottardi Museum in Loyalton and the Ace Hardware in Portola.
