Firefighters successfully completed treatment on all three of the 1-acres units located at the Mount Hough Ranger District office, Oakland Camp and Greenville Campground. They also completed ignitions on approximately 100 of the planned 284 acres of large machine piles near Meadow Valley.
Tomorrow, in addition to continuing ignitions on the remaining 184 acres planned, firefighters will be working on ignitions south of Canyon Dam and Lake Almanor.
Approximately 136 acres of machine piles near Seneca Road in the Dixie Integrated Resource Service Contract (IRSC) area are planned for ignitions starting tomorrow and continuing through the week. The pile burning will be visible from Canyon Dam, Lake Almanor, California State Highway 89 and Seneca Road.
Visibility on roads in the project areas may be reduced, especially early in the morning and late evening as smoke settles.
If weather conditions become unfavorable, including increased or gusty winds in the area, burning will stop until conditions improve. Firefighters will be monitoring conditions throughout the entire operation.
