Quincy, Calif. –
On April 8th, 2025, at approximately 6:49 AM, the CHP dispatch center received a call of a reckless driver on SR-70, in the Feather River Canyon. The caller described a dark green Acura was swerving all over the road and driving in the wrong lane. Our officer was dispatched and headed towards the last known location to intercept the Acura. While en route, our officer received a call of a head on collision involving the same Acura at 6:58 AM.
Jeremy Genn, 53, of Oakdale, CA, was driving with a female passenger. Mr. Genn entered a blind curve near Rush Creek, while traveling wrong-way and his Acura collided head on with a Chevrolet pickup. The driver of the truck was a 62 year-old male resident of Quincy, CA. The head on collision resulted in major damage to both vehicles and injuries to all three parties.
All three were flown to Enloe Medical Center and both vehicles were removed from the roadway. After an extensive scene clean up, the highway was re-opened within three hours.
The investigation is on-going, but we intend on filing charges against Mr. Genn for reckless driving resulting in injury. If you witnessed the incident, or have any additional information, you are encouraged to contact the Quincy CHP via social media or the local office at 530-283-1100
