This spring, high schoolers across Plumas County are visiting their local Learning Landscape outdoor classrooms and the Sierra Valley Preserve to observe, reflect, and “Write the Land."

Write the Land is a special project, supported by FRLT, where local high school students create seasonal poems inspired by the lands around them, selecting their favorites to create a collective anthology.

By conserving natural, outdoor classrooms within walking distance of every school in the watershed, FRLT's Learning Landscapes program is at the heart of the Write the Land project. These outdoor classrooms create the opportunity for teachers and students to get outside frequently, supporting daily connection to nearby nature and place-based learning.

Learn more about how you're helping to get kids outside via Learning Landscapes across the Watershed. Together, we're nurturing the next generation of Earth's stewards.
