We have been receiving a lot of questions about work occurring above Quincy over the past couple weeks.
The work is a timber operation happening on private lands above town. It is not a Forest Service project and not on National Forest System lands.
From our front yard at the Forest Supervisor’s Office in downtown Quincy, we are observing a cable yarding operation taking place. The “beeping” being heard during the early morning hours is likely the whistle from the yarder as logs are getting yarded up the hill to the landing. It is an employee safety function for logging operations.
