There’s no bad age for a child to visit one of California’s amazing state parks‚ but for fourth-graders and their families‚ there is a special incentive – a freeCalifornia State Parks Adventure Pass‚ which provides the fourth-grader and their family with free entry to dozens of state parks‚ including Castle Crags State Park in Castella and Empire Mine State Historic Park in Grass Valley. More information on how to get your fourth-grader’s pass is available here.

And while you’re at it‚ the federal Every Kid Outdoors initiative offers an even more comprehensive free pass for national parks. Get yours here.
