Graeagle celebrated its 51st Fourth of July parade and fireworks display! This year, on Friday, July 4th in downtown Graeagle, the Nevada Gunfighters Performing Troupe had a mock gunfighter show at the park. There was live music in the park with the Don Clark Kick-Off Concert and music by the band Decoy. On Saturday, July 5th, many attendees competed in the the annual cornhole tournament. A Civil War Days reenactment battle also took place, performed by the Reenactors of the American Civil War. After that performance, the Nevada Gunfighters performed in downtown Graeagle. A popular hangout was also the Mill Pond, where numerous people took to the water to cool down. Herb Rowe Park had many vendors and arts and crafts. From 6 to 9 p.m., the Danny Horton Trio put on a fabulous show, with the music building up to the grand finale of the fireworks show. On Sunday, the Graeagle firefighters hosted the annual pancake breakfast at the Graeagle Fire Hall. People were lined up inside and outside the Fire Hall to the street to get the fabulous pancake breakfast. The Fourth of July parade commenced at noon and was hosted by the Plumas Ski Club. Their motto is “Long live longboards!” The parade featured a diverse range of vintage cars, sports cars, and unusual vehicles. The Nevada Gunfighters Theatrical Troupe was also on a float, showcasing their vintage clothing. The Civil War Reenactors Club marched in the parade and had six horses pulling the supply wagon. As always, the kids’ bike brigade was a huge hit. High Sierra Animal Rescue had a van promoting The Retriever’s Ball, which will be held at the Graeagle Mill Pond on July 26th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There were many more floats, too numerous to mention. The 2025 Fourth of July celebration had a record-breaking number of attendees. Despite the lack of parking spots, people didn’t mind walking a short distance to get to the park and Mill Pond. All in all, it was a good time had by everyone who attended, and a beautiful way to celebrate Independence Day!
