On the campus of the busy hospital, in the two skilled nursing facilities and the three medical clinics it’s easy to acknowledge those who we encounter firsthand - the public faces who are our medical providers and their support staff. It’s sometimes harder to see those who work behind the scenes to keep EPHC’s facilities running and exam rooms sparkling clean.
Do you ever wonder who performs these daily operational tasks -- rain or shine? Enter EPHC’s Director of Engineering and Facilities, Stan Peiler and his Engineering and EVS (Environmental Services) teams.
With his dedicated Engineering crew, who at times work 24/7, they oversee everything operational from the ground up. From basic needs like snow removal, hot water, lighting, and reliable plumbing to the maintenance of emergency generators, boilers, chiller systems, and other equipment.
They also do much of the work to maintain the interiors of the facilities as well as the exterior hospital grounds to keep the landscaping and buildings looking good.
“My main goal for Engineering is to ensure our facilities are always up and running in all phases, and to maintain a professional image to our patients, residents, staff, and community. But this cannot be accomplished without acknowledging the hard work and dedication of this crew,” says Peiler.
Not to mention, the EVS team keeps the healthcare delivery areas in the hospital, clinics, and skilled nursing facilities clean and disinfected for the safety of staff, patients, and long-term residents. “I want to say thank you to the EVS team for all their hard work and dedication. You truly are the foundation that holds up our organization,” said Peiler.
For Stan Peiler and his crew, their work is indispensable. It is evident in their pride and care, whether in day-to-day tasks or special projects. It’s a higher standard that goes above and beyond the norm. It’s what Stan Peiler and his crew do. Because at EPHC, everyone is on the same team, working in unison to deliver the high standard of care our community deserves.
