Sierra Brooks, CA – 9/5/2024 – After thorough deliberations and consultations with incident commanders, officials are pleased to announce that the Sierra Brooks community will begin repopulation this afternoon. Effective at 4 PM today, Sierra Brooks will transition from a Mandatory Evacuation status to an Evacuation Warning.
Access Information: Starting at 4 PM, only local residents with proper identification will be permitted to enter the road closure at Smithneck and Highway 49. This measure is in place to ensure safety and facilitate the orderly return of residents.
Weather Concerns: Forecasts predict thunderstorms for tomorrow, bringing potential lightning and wind hazards. Residents choosing to return home should remain vigilant and be prepared to evacuate on short notice if conditions worsen.
