An often overlooked tradition of the Plumas Sierra County Fair is the flag raising at the opening of the Fair on Thursday, July 24 at noon. An honor guard of all the local veteran’s service clubs, from all the communities in our area, come to present the colors of the country they all served in the armed forces. Of all the events you could make a special effort to witness, this is one of the more moving ceremonies. The ceremony begins at 12pm at the front gate of the Plumas Sierra County Fairgrounds.
