It’s the perfect place to pick up a Christmas tree. The wooded, spacious surroundings on the historic ranch site form the perfect back drop for the sale of this traditional holiday decoration.
The sale begins on Friday, November 29 ,10 AM to 2 PM, and continues on that weekend as well as on every following Saturday and Sunday until sold out. Only 50 trees freshly cut from the Plumas National Forest will be available. If the weekends don’t work out, specific appointments can be made. Customers can call Jan Tew at 530-520-7990 and arrange for a pick-up time that is convenient. Her e-mail address is [email protected].
Baked goods, provided by the Whittemore Family Farm, will be available for purchase but the stuffed animals for the kids are free. A stuffed animal, courtesy of Pet Smart Charities, will be offered with each tree sale, first come, first served. Hot chocolate and cider, donated by the Quincy Safeway store, will be available for sale and Christmas music will be playing in the background. It should be seasonal fun for the whole family.
The Ranch is located at 2200 Highway 89 at the entrance to the Mohawk Valley in Clio, CA. The trees are all fresh cut by White Sulphur Springs Ranch (WSSR) volunteers. This is a new fundraiser for the Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council (MVSC), stewards of WSSR. Volunteers log many hours in their effort to restore this historic recreation area to the community. The big fundraiser each year is Summerfest, on the last Sunday in June, but next year, in 2025, construction projects on the grounds will make this Plumas County tradition impossible. The MVSC will need all the help it can get to keep the improvements coming. More information is available on the website www.WhiteSulphurSpringsRanch.com.
