California Highway Patrol Conducts Speed Enforcement Stop Leading to Major Drug Seizure
October 22, 2024   GREENVILLE, CA — During routine speed enforcement along State Route 89 near Willow Way, officers from the California Highway Patrol made a significant discovery that has launched an ongoing investigation.
At approximately 8:50 PM, CHP officers observed a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit of 55 MPH. A traffic stop was initiated, but the driver and passenger fled the scene on foot, disappearing into the nearby wooded area. Upon securing the vehicle, officers discovered a Ford van containing approximately 1,012 pounds of processed marijuana worth an estimated $3,000,000.00.
With the assistance of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the individuals involved. The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating this incident and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
