REDDING – Caltrans has resumed work on the Crescent Mills Arlington Left Turn Lane Project along State Route (SR) 89, in Plumas County. The project is located in and near Greenville from just south of Dixie Canyon Rd to Wolf Creek Bridge, and from Mill St to just north of Hillside Drive.
The purpose of the project is to improve traffic operations, reduce traffic delays and increase safety within the project limits. In addition, the project will reduce distressed lane miles, improve ride quality, minimize future maintenance and costs. The project includes HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) and digouts, culvert and signage replacement, new guardrail, and a deer crossing. The project will widen SR 89 to accommodate a left-turn lane in each direction.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
Beginning April 28, motorists should expect daytime one-way traffic control, Monday through Friday. Intermittent one-way traffic control may also occur on select Saturdays. Continuous (24/7) one-way traffic control will be in place from May 19 through May 31 while the roadway surface remains unpaved. Motorists are advised to anticipate delays of up to 15 minutes.
This $14.4 million project includes 130 working days, with all working days requiring traffic control. The bulk of construction is expected to commence in the spring and summer as weather permits.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice. Caltrans and its contractors do our best to keep the public informed
