THE DECOITE KIDS are shown within the fenced-in area next to their home where a wolf attacked a deer Saturday night.
Sierra Brooks residents are on alert after a wolf attacked a deer within a fenced-in area on Longhorn Drive Saturday night, April 26th at 10:50 p.m.
Michelle DeCoite reports the family heard screaming and from the neighbor's light, they could see the silhouette of a wolf after a deer, spinning the deer around and attacking it from the hind quarter. Michelle's husband opened the door and the wolf jumped the fence with the deer jumping to the neighbor's and collapsing.
Michelle says the deer lay there an hour until the Sheriff and Fish & Wildlife arrived when it dragged its back legs along the fence line and escaped.
It's a great concern as the DeCoite's neighbor to the west has goats, the DeCoites have chickens and dogs, there are horses down the street and "kids all over."
